NPO Redu Pellets is made from a 100% biodegradable biopolymer, initially developed for drinking water filtration. In marine aquariums, it promotes the multiplication of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria that develop directly on the pellets.
This mechanism gradually reduces nitrogen and phosphates, limits the growth of undesirable algae, and produces bacterioplankton, beneficial for the nutrition of corals.
| Process | Effect in the aquarium |
|---|---|
| Biodegradable biopolymer | Support for bacterial colonization |
| Aerobic and anaerobic bacteria | Consumption of nitrates and phosphates |
| Progressive degradation | Slow and stable nutrient reduction |
| Production of bacterioplankton | Improvement of coral nutrition |
| Method | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Standard soaking | Soak the pellets in tap water for about 24 hours |
| Quick activation | Pour boiling water over the pellets and leave for 2 hours |
| Phase | Dosage | Objective |
|---|---|---|
| Start-up | 20 to 30 ml (15 to 20 g dry weight) per 100 L | Initiate bacterial colonization |
| Progressive adjustment | Up to 100 ml (approx. 70 g dry weight) per 100 L | Optimize nutrient reduction |
A slight turbidity may appear during the first days of use. This phenomenon is normal and disappears spontaneously. The first signs of nutrient reduction are generally observable after 10 to 21 days via water analysis.
Depending on initial conditions, 8 to 12 weeks may be necessary to observe a visible improvement in coral health. Temporary nutrient variations may occur during this phase. After 3 to 4 months, the parameters stabilize permanently.
| Feature | Detail |
