The Skim Breeze Reactor M 2.5 L from Fauna Marin is an air filtration system designed to be connected to a skimmer. It purifies the aspirated air, retains CO2 before it enters the aquarium, and sustainably increases the tank's pH without altering the water chemistry.

Operating Principle

The air drawn in by the skimmer passes through the Skim Breeze media before entering the aquarium. The CO2 is captured by the filtering media, which limits the acidification of the water and helps maintain a higher, more stable pH, both day and night.

Benefits of a High pH in a Reef Aquarium

A stabilized pH close to the natural seawater value (8.3) promotes calcification and growth of corals, improves the reproduction of calcareous organisms, and helps limit the growth of unwanted algae.

A higher pH also allows for better nutrient management by reducing deposits and promoting the gradual dissolution of phosphates.

Advantages over Traditional pH Buffers

The Skim Breeze operates passively, with no direct dosing into the aquarium. No overdosing is possible. The CO2 is eliminated before entering the system, preventing any chemical imbalance. The filtering media has a visual saturation indicator that changes color from white to pale purple.

Using the Skim Breeze can also improve skimmer performance by up to 15%.

Technical Specifications

Installation and Use

To fill the reactor, slightly loosen the top screw, insert the hose adapter compatible with the skimmer, then replace the lid. The reactor connects directly to the skimmer's air intake.

The Skim Breeze media should be replaced when its color becomes completely purple. Recoloration of used media does not indicate reactivation.

Compatibility

Compatible with most skimmers used in reef aquariums. The system requires no electronic adjustment or power supply.
