Cichlid Lake Salt™ Seachem is a specific blend of mineral salts designed to recreate the natural ionic conditions of the great African lakes, including Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Victoria. It helps achieve stable water suited to the physiology of African cichlids.

Cichlid Lake Salt™ is not just ordinary table salt. It is a balanced blend of carbonates, bicarbonates, and essential mineral salts, supporting fish osmoregulation and the chemical stability of the water.

It helps maintain hardness and alkalinity suitable for African cichlids, while limiting drastic parameter changes that can cause stress or physiological issues.

Aquarium Compatibility

This product is specifically intended for freshwater aquariums housing:

• Lake Malawi cichlids.
• Lake Tanganyika cichlids.
• Lake Victoria cichlids.

It is not suitable for marine, reef, or Amazonian aquariums.

Usage and Dosage

Cichlid Lake Salt™ should be used when preparing new water, particularly during water changes. It is recommended to dissolve the product separately before introducing it into the aquarium.

The precise dosage depends on the reconstructed lake and targeted parameters (GH, KH, pH). For optimal control, the combined use of suitable buffers (Malawi/Victoria Buffer™ or Tanganyika Buffer™) is advised.
