Malawi/Victoria Buffer is an alkaline buffer formulated to increase and stabilize the pH within a range of 7.8 to 8.4, corresponding to the natural conditions of Lakes Malawi and Victoria. It also acts on carbonate hardness to improve the water's buffering capacity.

Does not affect general hardness (GH).
