Gobiosoma evelynae – Sharknose Goby Cleaner
Gobiosoma evelynae, nicknamed the sharknose goby, is a small reef fish specialized in cleaning. It is distinguished by a bright yellow stripe near its eyes and black and blue bands running along the rest of its slender body. Its unique appearance makes it a both aesthetic and functional asset for the aquarium.
An active and peaceful cleaner fish
Like other gobies of the genus Gobiosoma, G. evelynae adopts a natural cleaner behavior, positioning itself close to other fish to rid them of parasites and dead skin. This behavior, beneficial for the overall health of the tank, makes it a valuable ally in community reef aquariums.
Suitable for small reef tanks
Thanks to its small size and fine mouth, it is perfectly suited for nano-aquariums starting from 30 to 60 liters. It is very peaceful, poses no compatibility issues with invertebrates or corals, and often perches on rocks or near the sand to watch for its hosts.
