Tropic Marin Pro-Reef Marine Salt for Reef Aquariums

Tropic Marin Pro-Reef is a marine salt specially developed to meet the specific requirements of modern reef aquariums. Its precise formulation promotes natural and sustainable living conditions for the corals, fish, and the most sensitive invertebrates.

The optimized concentration of calcium and magnesium stimulates coral growth, while the adapted buffering effect stabilizes the pH and carbonate hardness, even when using a calcium reactor or other calcium addition methods.

Parameters Suitable for Reef Aquariums

Pro-Reef salt is designed to function optimally with an alkalinity between 7 and 8 °dH, allowing a stable and consistent balance with the biological needs of artificial reefs.

This chemical stability helps create an environment close to natural reefs, favorable for the long-term maintenance of reef organisms.

Composition Similar to Tropical Seawater

Tropic Marin Pro-Reef contains all the main elements and trace elements present in tropical seawater, in proportions close to their natural state.

The main elements include calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chlorine, and sulfur.

The salt also provides a wide range of trace elements, including strontium, iodine, fluorine, iron, manganese, zinc, molybdenum, vanadium, and many other trace elements essential for the metabolism of reef organisms.

Preparation of Seawater

To achieve a salinity between 32 and 35 ‰, dissolve approximately 35 ml, or about 37 to 40 g of Pro-Reef salt per liter of water in a container.

The seawater is usable as soon as the salt is fully dissolved and the solution becomes clear. At 25 °C, the recommended relative density is between 1.025 and 1.027.

Aquarium Maintenance

A partial weekly renewal of about 10% of the aquarium volume with a Pro-Reef solution helps maintain stable water quality suitable for reef cultivation.
