Centropyge venusta, also known as the masked dwarf angelfish or purplemask angelfish, is a rare and fascinating species. It is immediately recognizable by its vivid lemon-yellow coloration accented with intense purple spots on the body and head. This striking and uncommon contrast makes it a centerpiece in a reef aquarium.
The pattern of the Centropyge venusta varies slightly from one individual to another, with asymmetrical purple areas on a bright yellow background. This fish with an almost "digital" style appears to wear a purple mask over its eyes, which is why it has its English nickname. It measures between 2 and 4 cm and will perfectly adapt to a well-organized tank.
Centropyge venusta is a territorial but relatively peaceful fish. It moves among the rocks and shaded areas of the setup. It can be kept alone or in a pair in an aquarium of at least 250 to 300 liters.
Like most dwarf angelfish, it may show interest in certain corals (notably LPS and clams), but its behavior varies between individuals. Careful observation is therefore recommended in a mixed reef tank.
This specimen is captive-bred at Bali Aquarich and benefits from a pre-shipment acclimatization protocol:
This process ensures a well-acclimated, fed fish ready to integrate into a well-stabilized reef aquarium.
Centropyge venusta is an exceptional fish, reserved for experienced aquarists seeking a central, colorful, and rare piece in a well-structured aquarium. Thanks to complete acclimatization and controlled breeding, you enjoy a healthy, fed fish ready to shine in your reef.
