Pterapogon kauderni – Banggai Cardinalfish from French Breeding MERS CB
Pterapogon kauderni, also known as the Banggai cardinalfish, is a peaceful, graceful, and nocturnal fish, ideal for reef aquariums of at least 100 liters. Originally from the Banggai Islands in Indonesia, it is now available from French breeding, without impacting wild populations, thanks to the work of MERS CB.
An elegant and easy-to-maintain fish
This fish is distinguished by its silver body striped with black, its large tapered fins, and its prominent eyes giving it an intense gaze. It moves slowly, often in open water or near hiding spots. It can live alone, in a group, or as a formed pair.
French breeding guaranteed virus-free
The specimens offered are bred by MERS CB in France. The breeder certifies that their fish are not carriers of the virus that decimated many kauderni colonies in the past years. This is a guarantee of quality and longevity for your aquarium.
Pair formation and reproduction
It is not possible to guarantee a pair upon order. To naturally form a pair, it is recommended to take a small group of 5 individuals and let them pair by affinity. The incubating male keeps the eggs in his mouth, a spectacular mouthbrooding incubation to observe.
