This Montipora undata is appreciated for its fast growth and high tolerance to moderate variations in water parameters. It easily adapts to well-established reef environments and adds a bright and dynamic touch without requiring demanding maintenance.
Ideal conditions for optimal development
Lighting and water flow
To maintain its bright green flash, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 200-250 PAR. Medium to strong water flow is necessary to prevent sediment accumulation and promote optimal tissue oxygenation.
Water parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Montipora undata green flash requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-10 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
