Ideal Conditions for Optimal Development
Lighting and Water Flow
To maintain the intensity of its colors and promote even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 200-250 PAR. Medium to strong water flow is also essential to prevent sediment accumulation and ensure good oxygenation of the tissues.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Montipora digitata Purple Polyps requires stable and balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-10 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
