Ideal conditions for optimal coloration
Lighting and water flow
To maintain its spectacular color contrast and ensure uniform growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity of around 200-300 PAR. Moderate water flow is essential to prevent sediment accumulation and ensure optimal oxygenation of the coral's tissues.
Water parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Psammocora Watermelon Ultra requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
