Reef KALK is a high-purity calcium hydroxide source that allows the preparation of limewater or Kalkwasser. It provides the necessary calcium and helps maintain alkalinity, promoting the growth of soft and hard corals, mollusks, tube worms, as well as calcareous and coralline algae.
It also helps maintain stable pH levels and promotes phosphate precipitation, thereby contributing to better water quality in marine aquariums.
Calcium supply for calcifying organisms.
Maintenance of alkalinity and pH.
Preparation of limewater or Kalkwasser.
Contribution to phosphate precipitation.
Mix 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of Reef KALK with 4 L of reverse osmosis water. Shake vigorously and let it settle until the solution clears by decantation.
Add only the clear solution to the aquarium, slowly, in front of the pump intake of the protein skimmer, or using a drip system, to promote phosphate precipitation.
Regularly check the calcium concentration, which should be between 400 and 450 mg/L.
Renew the powder after four days. A monthly renewal of 20 to 25% of the aquarium's water volume is recommended to maintain optimal water quality.
