Food waste, fish waste, and organic matter containing nitrogen are transformed by bacteria during the nitrogen cycle. After an ammonium phase and then nitrites, these compounds are converted into nitrates, which are generally harmless at low concentrations.
In a well-balanced aquarium or pond, the nitrate concentration should remain moderate. During the startup phase, when nitrifying bacteria are not yet sufficiently developed, regular monitoring is essential to avoid any imbalance.
Colorimetric nitrate test (NO3).
Suitable for aquariums and ponds.
Monitoring of the nitrogen cycle.
Visual reading by color comparison.
Reagent for approximately 140 tests, a measuring test tube, a color scale, and an instruction manual.
Collect a water sample using the provided test tube, add the reagent according to the instructions, then compare the obtained coloration to the color scale to determine the nitrate concentration.
Keep out of reach of children. Dangerous. Strictly follow the precautions indicated on the packaging.
