During the nitrogen cycle, food waste, fish waste, and organic matter containing nitrogen are transformed by bacteria into ammonium, then into nitrites. Nitrites are toxic and must be quickly converted into nitrates by nitrifying bacteria.
In a well-balanced aquarium or pond, the nitrite concentration should remain below 0.3 mg/L. During the start-up phase, when nitrifying bacteria are not yet sufficiently developed, regular monitoring is essential to prevent any risk of poisoning.
Colorimetric nitrite test (NO2).
Suitable for aquariums and ponds.
Essential for monitoring the nitrogen cycle.
Visual reading by color comparison.
Reagent for approximately 140 tests, a measuring test tube, a color scale, and instructions for use.
Take a water sample using the provided test tube, add the reagent according to the instructions, then compare the resulting color to the color scale to determine the nitrite concentration.
Keep out of reach of children. Dangerous. Strictly follow the safety precautions indicated on the packaging.
