SEACHEM
The Seachem Zeolite is a highly porous natural mineral that binds ammonia and heavy metals through an ion exchange mechanism. It has one of the highest ammonia binding capacities among available zeolites.
It does not deplete calcium in saltwater and does not increase general hardness in freshwater, allowing safe use in many types of aquariums.
Type: highly porous natural zeolite.
Action: binding of ammonia and heavy metals.
Targeted metals: lead, copper, nickel, zinc.
Compatibility: freshwater and saltwater.
No impact on calcium in marine environments.
Does not alter general hardness in freshwater.
Use 250 ml for every 200 L of water. For small aquariums, the equivalent dose is 5 ml for 4 L of water.
This amount removes up to 0.5 mg/L of ammonia. Ammonia concentrations should drop to zero within 24 to 48 hours.
Once the ammonia is removed, the zeolite can be removed or replaced with an activated carbon such as MatrixCarbon.
For heavy metal removal, keep the zeolite in service and replace monthly.
For long-term biological control of ammonia, it is recommended to use Stability and Matrix as a supplement and monitor ammonia levels with an appropriate test.
