Principle and Design

MatrixCarbon is a unique activated carbon, designed in spherical beads to ensure optimal hydrodynamics. This shape prevents compacting and water channeling, guaranteeing even flow and maximum contact with macroporous adsorption sites.

Its structure is specifically adapted for the removal of large organic molecules, such as nitrogenous waste, while limiting excessive removal of trace elements.

Main Advantages

Impact on pH and Phosphates

Thanks to its low ash content, MatrixCarbon has a negligible impact on water pH. Even when used in distilled water, it does not raise the pH above 7.0.

Although all activated carbons naturally contain phosphate, MatrixCarbon is distinguished by the lowest detectable phosphate release on the market, thanks to an advanced washing process that effectively removes residual ash.

Compatibility

MatrixCarbon is compatible with cartridge filters, chemical filtration modules, box filters, and high-flow areas of trickle filters. It is suitable for reef, marine, and freshwater aquariums.

Lifespan

Depending on the tank's organic load, the duration of use generally varies from 3 to 6 months. Heavily loaded water will reduce the effectiveness duration, while clean water will allow for extended use.
