Colombo Marine Mycosidol Bio Cure 120 ml – Anti-cyanobacteria treatment for marine aquariums (up to 450 L)

Colombo Marine Mycosidol Bio Cure is a solution intended to purify saltwater aquariums by reducing the nutrients responsible for the development of cyanobacteria, often called red algae. Its formulation, based on natural ingredients and marine bacteria, promotes the decomposition of organic waste, also known as detritus.

Targeted action against cyanobacteria

Cyanobacteria primarily develop in aquariums rich in detritus, light, and nutrients. Mycosidol acts by eliminating this source of nutrition through the action of specially selected bacteria, supported by active oxygen. Used as a remedy, it stops their development and, when used periodically, prevents the accumulation of organic waste.

Evaluating the aquarium volume

It is recommended to calculate the actual volume of the tank in liters by multiplying length x width x average depth (in decimeters), then subtracting the volume occupied by rocks and sand. Generally, a deduction of 10% is advised, which can reach up to 30% in heavily stocked aquariums.

Water quality and tank optimization

Mycosidol is effective when the treatment is accompanied by an overall optimization of the aquarium. Cyanobacteria thrive in the presence of high nutrients, excessive temperatures, and insufficient water flow. Improving these parameters enhances the effectiveness of the treatment.

Recommended dosage

Use 1 graduated spoon (1 ml) for 15 liters of seawater. The treatment generally requires 3 to 4 dosages. It is advised to administer Mycosidol twice a week, with a 3 to 4-day interval between applications. Mycosidol is not a biocide and does not directly eliminate bacteria.

Safe use

Mycosidol releases active oxygen, which can be harmful to corals in direct contact. It is recommended to sprinkle the product in a safe area, such as the sump. Turn off the pumps for 5 minutes to avoid dispersion throughout the tank, then restart them after dissolution.

Impact on carbonate hardness

Each addition of Mycosidol can increase carbonate hardness (KH) by about 1 to 1.5 °DH. It is necessary to adjust the KH+ dosage accordingly during manual or automatic dosing.

Filtration and equipment

The filter can remain operational during the treatment. For the best results, it is advised to turn off the protein skimmer for 2 to 3 hours after administration. Do not use activated carbon or zeolite during the treatment. UV and ozone equipment should be turned off and kept off for up to 24 hours after application. No water change should be performed during the treatment.

Product intended exclusively for fish and saltwater aquariums. Keep out of reach of children. Store in its packaging between 4 and 32 °C.

Treatment combinations

The simultaneous use of more than two preparations or medications is at the user's risk. Do not administer Mycosidol simultaneously with products from other brands.

Cyanobacteria can appear in red, green, blue, or black forms and are generally linked to poor water quality, high temperatures, insufficient water flow, or excessive organic load.
