Kalkwasser, or calcium hydroxide, is used to support calcium and carbonate hardness levels in marine aquariums. This method contributes to pH stability and promotes the growth of corals.

Preparation Instructions

Dilute about 7 to 10 g of calcium hydroxide in 10 L of osmosis water. Let it sit for several hours in a closed container until a clear liquid, called kalkwasser, is obtained. This solution is then added slowly, preferably drop by drop, to the aquarium.

Usage Tips

It is recommended to use a kalkwasser reactor or a dosing pump for a gradual introduction of the solution into the sump, to ensure regular and controlled diffusion.
