Symphorichthys spilurus is a majestic and peaceful fish belonging to the Lutjanidae family. This splendid fish is easily recognizable by its oval-shaped white body adorned with metallic blue bands, its yellow underside, and its distinctive black ocellus located near the tail. As it ages, it develops orange hues and fine stripes, further accentuating its unique beauty.
A calm fish despite its size
Reaching up to 30 cm in adulthood, this fish is particularly calm and observant, making it an excellent companion for large, well-structured reef or fish-only tanks. It prefers areas close to the bottom, between rocks and overhangs, where it moves slowly and gracefully.
