- Out-of-Stock
The snakehead fish - Channa andrao comes from Asia. This specimen reaches 12cm when fully grown. Their nickname is due to the very characteristic shape of their body. A predator with a rather large mouth and a prominent lower jaw, it also has supra-branchial chambers that help it gather oxygen from the surface.
Adopting a diurnal lifestyle, the snakehead fish lives either as a pair or alone. Quite territorial, it does not like the presence of other animals with similar behavior. Water between 18°C and 25°C is perfect for it, as well as a pH between 6 and 7. A freshwater volume of 300 L is recommended. Its tendency to be a very good jumper, a skill it uses to change its living area, requires impeccable aquarium coverage to prevent a fatal fall.
Breeding specimen about 10-12 cm
Note: Carnivorous fish, to be kept in a specific tank.
Accepts all types of food (frozen and granulated).
