The Barbus - Puntius odessa is an Asian fish that displays splendid color variations on its scales. Measuring 6 to 7 cm in adulthood depending on the sex, this species moves in groups in vegetated environments close to the surface. Its basic diet consists of live food, but varying its diet is essential.
In an aquarium, introducing them in groups is crucial to best respect the habits of the Barbus - Puntius odessa. Water between 12° and 24° is perfectly suitable for them. Additionally, the pH should be between 6.5 and 7.5. It should be noted that 120L of water is the minimum required for maintaining this fish. A spacious aquarium is also preferable, especially if you wish to encourage breeding.
