The Hyphessobrycon flammeus - Rio Tetra thrives in waters rich in vegetation (branches, aquatic plants, organic matter, etc.) in South America, specifically in Brazil. Living in schools at mid-depth, this fish prefers substrates composed of sand, pebbles, and silt.
Robust and peaceful, the Hyphessobrycon flammeus is a species that needs to be raised in groups of at least ten individuals. Therefore, a 100-liter aquarium is recommended. To respect their living conditions, water temperatures between 22°C and 28°C are essential, as well as a pH between 6.8 and 7.2. They also have omnivorous and insectivorous dietary needs. Their resilience makes them easily adaptable to all types of currents, although it is preferable to avoid strong currents. Finally, in a community aquarium, this fish generally shows no hostility towards its tank mates.
