Predominantly found in South America, Hyphessobrycon amandae are small fish with orange scales, rarely exceeding 2 cm. Belonging to the tetras, it is often described as a "dwarf" animal. Its short lifespan, averaging 4 years, does not require a long-term commitment. Found at mid-depth, it lives in schools and therefore prefers the company of a large number of its kind, in a minimum volume of 60 L. The ember tetra tolerates a temperature between 20°C and 28°C and a pH of 7 to 8. Omnivorous, this fish feeds on dry foods, fresh food, and frozen food.
