Gramma loreto – Royal Bicolor Gramma for Reef Aquariums
Gramma loreto, also known as the royal gramma or royal basslet, is a reef fish appreciated for its vibrant colors and peaceful behavior. It has a unique bicolor body: the front part is purple while the back of the body is a bright yellow. A dark band crosses each eye, further accentuating its gaze.
A Discreet, Colorful, and Territorial Fish
Native to the coral reefs of the Caribbean, this fish lives in rocky areas rich in hiding spots. Territorial but shy, it spends most of its time near its shelter. If the aquarium does not provide enough refuges, it may become excessively discreet.
Perfect for Small Reef Aquariums
The Gramma loreto can be kept alone or in a pair in a minimum volume of 80 liters. In a group, a well-arranged 500-liter aquarium is essential to limit territorial tensions. It is perfectly compatible with invertebrates and does not harm corals.
Maintenance Conditions
