The Aqua Illumination Hydra Edge 44HD reinvents marine aquarium lighting by offering a natural and uniform visual rendering. Thanks to EdgeField™ technology, the light is diffused widely and evenly to ensure optimal PAR distribution, promoting the growth and coloration of corals.
Its integrated solar ring generates a dynamic shimmer that highlights the depth of the reef, while its ultra-thin design discreetly integrates above the aquarium. The silent operation guarantees a peaceful ambiance, even in high-end installations.

Integrated Technologies
EdgeField™ Optics technology ensures wide-angle uniform coverage, limiting shadow areas and hotspots while ensuring smooth color blending.
The Solar Blue spectrum is inspired by shallow reefs and naturally enhances coral fluorescence. It can be easily obtained by setting the channels to equivalent intensity.
The central solar ring creates a modifiable shimmer effect, replicating the natural caustics observed in reef environments.
The HyperDrive management intelligently redistributes energy between the channels to optimize light performance without loss of efficiency.
A dedicated Moonlight channel, based on a 2300 K LED, allows for simulating moonlight and observing nighttime activity in the aquarium.
Recommended Light Coverage
The Hydra Edge 44HD can illuminate an area up to 76 × 76 cm when positioned about 23 cm above the aquarium. For aquariums dominated by SPS corals, a smaller area of 60 × 60 cm or the addition of extra fixtures is recommended.
Usage and Control
The light fixture can be controlled via the Mobius and myAI apps, as well as the MXM module for Apex Fusion. It allows for complete 24-hour programming with sunrise and sunset simulation, as well as lunar cycle management.
Installation and Design
The thin and sleek design is complemented by an optimized heat sink ensuring efficient and silent cooling. Several mounting solutions are available, such as the inclined mount, suspension kit, or HMS arm, offered separately.
