Common name: Babylonia. This snail is similar to the Nassarius but larger in size. It is an excellent scavenger, spending most of its time buried in the sand and emerging to devour the food remnants that the fish have not eaten. Ideal as a scavenger, it is harmless to fish and corals and is completely amphibious.

Babylonia sp – Detritivore Bottom Snail for Reef Aquarium
Babylonia sp is a marine snail particularly appreciated in reef aquariums for its efficiency as a detritivore. Larger than the Nassarius, it plays a key role in the biological balance of the aquarium by consuming uneaten food leftovers and organic waste present in the sand.
An Active Sand Cleaner and Amphibious
This gastropod spends most of its time buried under the sand, only coming out to devour the residues left by the fish. Its ability to move under the substrate helps stir sediments and improve soil oxygenation. Completely amphibious, it can stay temporarily out of water without any risk to its health, making it very resistant to water level variations during tank maintenance.
