This Pocillopora Green with Pink Tips is known for its resilience and fast growth. It easily adapts to moderate variations in water parameters and develops a bushy form, providing an ideal shelter for microorganisms and small reef fish.
Ideal Conditions for Optimal Coloration
Lighting and Water Flow
To maintain its unique contrast and promote balanced growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity of 200-300 PAR. Medium to strong water flow is necessary to oxygenate its tissues and prevent sediment buildup between its compact branches.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Pocillopora Green with Pink Tips requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
