Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Natural White Reef Sand #0 for Marine Aquarium

The Natural White Reef Sand #0 by Nature’s Ocean is a very fine live reef sand made of natural aragonite, collected and packaged in its original environment. Each grain is naturally covered with an active bacterial biofilm, ready to immediately contribute to the biological balance of the aquarium.

Natural Bacterial Biofilm

In the marine environment, sand grains are covered with a complex biofilm composed of autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria. Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live aragonite is harvested in a way that preserves this natural biofilm, without the artificial addition of bacteria.

The bacteria are kept alive through a patented process paired with a patented QX-23™ saline enrichment solution, allowing for immediate biological activity after introducing the sand into the aquarium.

Quick Start and Biological Stability

This live sand enables an almost instantaneous ammonia cycle, without the waiting period associated with bacterial establishment. It helps reduce nitrogenous waste, limits algae growth, and promotes a stable pH suitable for marine and reef aquariums.

Applications and Compatibility

The fine grain size of 0.1 to 0.5 mm is particularly suited for deep sand beds and reef setups requiring a very fine substrate. This sand is not recommended for systems using under-gravel filters.

Recommended Use

It is advised to use at least 1 lb of Bio-Activ Aragonite Live sand per gallon of saltwater. After setup, ensure adequate filtration and circulation. During the first month, limit the introduction of fish to allow for gradual biological stabilization.
