Description

AF Bio Sand is a natural white sand sourced from deposits of the highest quality. It is free from any contaminants and its calcium carbonate content helps stabilize water chemistry. The latest technology in AF Bio Sand significantly accelerates the maturation process of an aquarium and allows for quicker addition of livestock into a newly set-up tank. The included vials contain nitrifying bacteria strains isolated in a laboratory and a food source, facilitating their development and multiplication.

The product's specialized formula ensures the nitrogen cycle is completed and harmful chemical compounds are eliminated much faster than with traditional substrates. The extremely simple use of AF Bio Sand allows for instant preparation of the sand for use in the aquarium. Due to its very wide range of applications, AF Bio Sand will also work perfectly in mature tanks as a substrate supplement. The sand granulation is from 0.5 to 1.5 mm.

Preparation

Sand residues emerge during transport and it is perfectly safe for your aquarium, however, in order to avoid water cloudiness, we strongly advise rinsing the sand in RODI water before use.

Pour the contents of both bottles into 3 liters of saltwater, mix well, add to the bag of sand, and let it sit for 24 hours.

To allow bacteria to multiply, do not close the bag.

We do not recommend storing in cool places, as this significantly increases the bacterial multiplication time.

The optimal maturation temperature for the sand is about 25-28 °C (77-82 °F).

After 24 hours, the sand is ready to be used in the aquarium.

When using in a functioning aquarium, please add sand gradually into the tank (small amounts per day), monitor parameter changes, and observe the corals.
