Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Reef Substrate for Marine Aquarium

The Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Reef Substrate is a live reef sand composed of natural aragonite collected and packaged in its original environment. Each grain is covered with an active bacterial biofilm, allowing for a quick and stable start-up of the marine aquarium.

Natural Bacterial Biofilm

The Bio-Activ Live sand is harvested and packaged in its natural state using patented processes. The autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria necessary for the biological cycle are already present and active as a biofilm, without artificial addition.

Thanks to a patented enrichment solution QX-23™, the bacteria are kept alive, ready to immediately recycle nitrogen compounds and other metabolic waste as soon as the sand is introduced into the aquarium.

Accelerated Start-Up

The use of this sand allows for an almost instantaneous ammonia cycle, without the waiting period associated with bacterial establishment. It helps to reduce algae growth and quickly stabilize the tank's biological environment.

Compatibility and Uses

The Bio-Activ Live Reef Substrate is suitable for most reef configurations, including deep sand beds. It is not recommended for systems using undergravel filters.

Recommended Usage

It is advised to use about 1 lb of Bio-Activ live sand per gallon of saltwater. After setup, ensure proper circulation and filtration. During the first month, limit the introduction of fish to promote gradual biological stabilization.
