Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Samoa Pink Reef Sand for Marine Aquarium

Nature’s Ocean Samoa Pink Reef Sand is a naturally pink-hued live reef sand, composed of aragonite collected and packaged directly from its original environment. Each grain is naturally covered with an active bacterial biofilm, allowing for the immediate biological setup of the aquarium.

Preserved Natural Bacterial Biofilm

In the ocean, each grain of sand is covered with a complex biofilm composed of autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria. Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Sand is harvested in a way that preserves this natural biofilm, without the artificial addition of bacteria.

The bacteria are kept alive thanks to a patented process and the use of a patented QX-23™ enriched saltwater solution, ensuring immediate biological activity upon introduction into the aquarium.

Instant Startup and Biological Balance

Samoa Pink Reef Sand allows for an almost instantaneous ammonia cycle, without the waiting phase associated with bacterial colonization. It helps reduce nitrogenous waste, limits algae growth, and aids in maintaining a stable pH suitable for marine and reef aquariums.

Applications and Compatibility

With its intermediate grain size of 0.5 to 1.7 mm, this live sand is compatible with most reef configurations, including deep sand beds. It is not recommended for use with undergravel filters.

Recommended Use

It is advised to use at least 1 lb of Bio-Activ Aragonite Live Sand per gallon of saltwater. Implement appropriate filtration and circulation. During the first month, limit the introduction of fish to promote gradual biological stabilization.
