Magnesium pro is a substrate specially formulated for use in calcium reactors in marine aquariums. It helps to increase and balance the concentration of magnesium, an essential element for chemical stability and the growth of reef organisms.

Role and Use

In reef aquariums, calcium and magnesium are consumed in large quantities by corals and encrusting algae. In typical use of a calcium reactor, the supply of calcium is generally higher than that of magnesium.

Adding Magnesium pro to the reactor media helps to offset this imbalance and maintain an appropriate concentration of magnesium.

Usage Recommendations

It is recommended to add up to 10% Magnesium pro to the material used in the calcium reactor.

An excessive mixture is not recommended, as it could lead to too high a concentration of magnesium in the aquarium.

When using Magnesium pro, the magnesium concentration of the water should be regularly monitored.
