In reef aquariums, ideal conditions for corals and soft corals are achieved when nitrates and phosphates are maintained at very low and stable concentrations. NP-Bacto-Balance has been developed to promote the natural incorporation of these nutrients into additional biomass through a targeted blend of organic carbon compounds and adapted inorganic nutrients.
This mechanism effectively reduces nitrates and phosphates present in the water while avoiding deficiency situations. Corals, soft corals, and other filtering organisms thus benefit from a balanced environment, conducive to better coloration, harmonious growth, and increased vitality.
Nitrates and phosphates can be stabilized at a particularly low level when NP-Bacto-Balance is used in combination with biological filter media based on biopolymers, such as NP-Bacto-Pellets or NP-Bacto-Tricks, suitable for fluidized bed reactors or trickle filters.
| Function | Biological incorporation of nitrates and phosphates into biomass |
| Water Quality | Controlled nutrient reduction without deficiency |
| Corals and Filters | Enhances color brilliance and proliferation |
| Balance | Establishes an optimal nitrate-phosphate ratio |
| Versatility | Suitable for reef aquariums of all ages |
| Renovation | Restores vitality to older tanks |
| Usage | Simple dosing, manually or via dosing pump |
Organic and inorganic nutrients.
The dosage depends on the age and stability of the aquarium.
| New Tanks (0 to 1 year) | Up to 0.25 ml per 100 liters per day |
| Medium Age Tanks (1 to 2 years) | Up to 0.5 ml per 100 liters per day |
| Older Tanks (over 2 years) | 0.5 to 1 ml per 100 liters per day |
The maximum daily dosage of 1 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water should never be exceeded.
Before starting use, the phosphate concentration should be between 0.02 mg/l and 0.1 mg/l. If the phosphate is too low, the use of an appropriate nutrient source is recommended. If the phosphate is too high, prior reduction is advised.
To enhance the effect, the dosage can be gradually increased after two weeks in increments of 0.25 ml per 100 liters, without exceeding the maximum dose. The product should be poured into an area with strong water movement, preferably at the beginning of the lighting phase.
If turbidity occurs after a dosage increase, immediately return to the previous dosage.
Store in a cool, dry place.
Regular monitoring of water parameters allows for precise dosage adjustment and ensures a sustainable reef balance close to natural conditions.
