Common name: Three-spot Angelfish. With a bright yellow color, it features beautiful blue lips and a double black ocellus on its forehead. For its well-being, it needs a spacious aquarium because it is a very active and not very shy fish. It is aggressive towards the entire aquarium population, which often leads to chases that generally do not result in injuries.

Apolemichthys trimaculatus: the Brilliant Yellow Three-Spot Angelfish
The Apolemichthys trimaculatus, also known as the three-spot angelfish, is a magnificent marine fish recognizable by its bright yellow body, intense blue lips, and its two distinct black spots on the forehead and the back of the body. This striking contrast gives it a unique style and a strong presence in the aquarium.
A Spectacular but Demanding Angelfish
This angelfish is part of the species with strong character. Territorial, it requires a large aquarium with multiple hiding places made of live rock. Its behavior can be dominant, especially towards other angelfish or species with similar behavior.
Recommended Maintenance Conditions
- Aquarium volume: minimum 400 liters
- Temperature: between 24°C and 28°C
- Behavior: territorial, can be aggressive
- Diet: omnivorous – algae, sponges, brine shrimp, mysis, frozen and pellet foods
