Description

EHEIM Activated Carbon is an adsorbing filter media. Adsorption involves binding undesirable substances to the surface of the activated carbon, unlike absorption.

This activated carbon effectively removes chlorine from tap water as well as medication residues and traces of detergents, pesticides, dyes, and other chemical substances present in the water.

Features

EHEIM Activated Carbon is particularly suitable for clarifying water during the aquarium's initial setup phase. Chlorine and chemical substances introduced during water setup are reliably bound.

It is used for a limited period, about 4 weeks, in layered filtration after a mechanical filter material (e.g., EHEIM MECH or MECHpro) and a biological material (e.g., EHEIM SUBSTRATpro).

Advice

Adsorbing filter media should be used only for a limited time. As pollutants are bound to the surface, they can be released after saturation. Regular replacement is essential. Adsorption filtering is mainly useful during the aquarium's initial setup or after medication treatment.
