EHEIM Karbon Activated is an adsorbing filter media designed to eliminate dissolved harmful substances in freshwater. Unlike absorption, adsorption involves binding pollutants to the surface of the filter media.
This activated carbon effectively binds chlorine present in tap water, as well as residues of medications, detergents, pesticides, dyes, and other undesirable chemical substances.
EHEIM Karbon Activated is particularly suitable for clarifying water during the initial setup phase of an aquarium or after a medical treatment. It is used temporarily, for a duration of about 4 weeks.
The activated carbon should be placed in filtration layers, after the mechanical filter media such as EHEIM MECH or MECHpro, and after the biological media such as EHEIM SUBSTRATpro. The product comes with a mesh bag to facilitate its integration into the filter.
Effectively binds chlorine and various chemical substances present in water. Suitable only for freshwater aquariums. Temporary use is recommended to prevent the gradual release of adsorbed substances.
