Kalkwasser, or calcium hydroxide, is used to support calcium and carbonate hardness levels in marine aquariums. This method helps maintain pH stability and promotes the growth of corals.

Preparation Instructions

Dissolve about 7 to 10 g of calcium hydroxide in 10 L of osmosis water. Let it sit for several hours in a closed container until a clear liquid, called kalkwasser, is obtained. This solution is then slowly added, preferably drop by drop, into the aquarium.

Usage Tips

It is recommended to use a kalkwasser reactor or a dosing pump for a gradual introduction of the solution into the decantation chamber, ensuring regular and controlled diffusion.
