Role and Function
Alkaline Buffer™ acts as an alkaline buffer system by increasing the water's capacity to resist pH fluctuations. It is particularly useful in aquariums housing species requiring alkaline water or when osmosis or very soft water leads to pH instability.
Used alone, it gradually raises the pH. Used in combination with Acid Buffer™, it allows for a precise and stable target pH.
Aquarium Compatibility
Alkaline Buffer™ is intended for freshwater aquariums. It is suitable for alkaline community tanks, African biotopes, and aquariums needing enhanced KH.
It is not recommended for use in marine or reef aquariums.
Dosage and Use
The dosage depends on the initial pH and KH as well as the desired target pH. The product should be dissolved in water before being added to the aquarium.
For precise pH adjustment, joint use with Acid Buffer™ is recommended according to Seachem instructions.

Precautions for Use
Do not add directly to the aquarium without prior dissolution. Adjust the pH gradually to avoid stressing the fish. Regular monitoring of pH and KH is recommended during use.
Alkaline Buffer™ allows for long-term pH stabilization but does not replace consistent management of the tank's population and maintenance.
