Amphiprion ephippium, also known as the Tomato Clownfish, is a vibrant and energetic species. Its intense orange-red body is topped with a large black patch on its back, reminiscent of a saddle, which is why it has the scientific name "ephippium," meaning "horse saddle." Our specimens measure between 3 and 4 cm and are from the professional breeding facility Bali Aquarich.
The Amphiprion ephippium is known for its vigor, territoriality, and robustness. It can coexist with other fish in a sufficiently spacious aquarium, provided you avoid species that are too calm or shy.
This clownfish easily forms a pair and can associate with a host anemone, although it also accepts corals as a refuge, such as Euphyllia or Rhodactis.
Our fish are bred at Bali Aquarich, a tropical breeding center located by the sea in Bali, Indonesia. For over 20 years, this facility has been breeding marine fish under exceptional conditions: pure seawater, warm climate year-round, and state-of-the-art facilities.
Bali Aquarich is globally recognized for the health quality and beauty of its fish, with colors as vibrant as those of wild specimens. The Amphiprion ephippium offered are robust, disease-free, and perfectly acclimated to reef aquarium life.
This clownfish accepts a wide variety of foods:
It is recommended to keep this fish in a tank of at least 100 liters, with a rocky decor and good water circulation. A pair or individual can thrive fully with dedicated space.
Amphiprion ephippium is the ideal choice for those seeking a lively, unique, and resilient clownfish, while supporting aquaculture that respects natural reefs.
