Besides calcium and strontium, many corals and coralline algae also store magnesium in their skeleton. Magnesium plays a central role in biochemical processes, especially in the photosynthesis of symbiotic algae, where it helps convert carbon dioxide and light into organic compounds.

Bio-Magnesium provides magnesium and carbon dioxide in a biologically exploitable form to prevent deficiencies and restore the natural concentration ratio of alkaline earth metals. These conditions are essential for maintaining a healthy coral reef in an aquarium.

Application and Dosage

The natural magnesium content of seawater averages between 1280 and 1300 mg/L. Before any supplementation, measure the magnesium concentration of the aquarium and accurately estimate the actual water volume, including decor.

Powder Form Dosage

Adding one measuring spoon of Bio-Magnesium increases the magnesium concentration by about 10 mg/L for 100 L of aquarium water.

The maximum recommended dose is 2 measuring spoons for 100 L of water per day.

Fill the measuring spoon level, distribute the product on the water surface while stirring. Avoid direct contact of undissolved crystals with corals. Wait for complete dissolution before adding another spoon to avoid water cloudiness.

Liquid Form Dosage

An addition of 50 ml of Bio-Magnesium Liquid for 100 L of water increases the magnesium content by about 25 mg/L.

The maximum recommended dose is 50 ml for 100 L of water per day.

The liquid solution can be added manually or using a dosing pump.

To prepare the solution, 450 g of Bio-Magnesium in crystalline form can be dissolved up to 1 L with reverse osmosis water.

Important Recommendations

Avoid concentrations above 1600 mg/L of magnesium, as some organisms may react negatively to excessively high levels.

A slight increase in water density may occur over time. It is recommended to regularly check the density as well as the calcium concentration, in addition to monitoring magnesium.
