In the natural environment, zooplankton constitutes an essential source of energy and nutrients for hard corals and many other filter-feeding organisms. The nocturnal migrations of zooplankton to reef areas allow corals to capture a rich diet adapted to their physiological needs.
In a reef aquarium, it is essential to provide a diet as close as possible to these natural conditions. Zooton has been developed to replace natural zooplankton in a balanced manner and meet the nutritional needs of hard corals, particularly small polyp species, as well as other marine filter feeders.
Its formulation is based on a selection of marine ingredients of animal and plant origin, naturally rich in trace elements and minerals. Spirulina provides a high content of carotenoids, while brewer's yeast helps cover the needs for B vitamins, particularly vitamin B12.
