SEACHEM
PhosBond is a hybrid medium combining aluminum oxide and granular ferric oxide into a single material. This combination creates a synergistic effect allowing for the rapid removal of phosphate and silicate in both saltwater and freshwater.
Its high porosity and large specific surface area give it significant binding capacity while maintaining excellent mechanical strength.
Rapid removal of phosphate and silicate.
Hybrid technology of aluminum oxide and GFO.
High porosity and large contact surface.
Robust structure, resistant to mechanical wear.
| Product | Bound Phosphate |
|---|---|
| PhosGuard (aluminum oxide) | 0.87 mg/g |
| PhosBond (hybrid GFO and aluminum oxide) | 1.19 mg/g |
| PhosNet (GFO) | 1.41 mg/g |
Rinse thoroughly before use.
Place to maximize water flow without tumbling.
Use in a filter bag is recommended.
Dosage: 60 ml for 200 L of saltwater or 400 L of freshwater.
Leave the media in place for 4 days, then test for phosphate or silicate.
If the concentration does not drop to about 0.02 mg/L, replace the media. Otherwise, leave it in place until levels begin to rise again.
Continuous use in small amounts is preferable to single-time use in large amounts. Excessive treatment is not recommended.
PhosBond is not an ion exchange resin and does not release any substance into the water.
It can be removed, dried, and reused until its adsorptive capacity is exhausted.
Not recommended in a media reactor, as tumbling may generate dust.
Tests show that under normal reef conditions, no detectable release of soluble aluminum is observed. Even at high dosages, soft corals such as Sarcophyton show no negative effects.
