Ultra Phos is an aluminum-based filtering media designed for the safe removal of phosphates and silicates in marine aquariums. It also acts on various undesirable trace elements and organic pollutants responsible for water coloration.
When water passes through the media, unwanted substances are permanently fixed without being released, allowing precise nutrient control and achieving crystal-clear water.
| Type of Substance | Action of the Media |
|---|---|
| Phosphates (PO4) | Efficient and safe removal |
| Silicates | Gradual reduction |
| Undesirable trace elements | Fixation of barium, arsenic, fluoride, and phosphorus derivatives |
| Organic pollutants | Permanent fixation without release |
| Water colorants | Visible water clarification |
| Parameter | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Preparation | Rinse Ultra Phos thoroughly before use |
| Rinsing behavior | Possible warming of the media |
| Type of filtration | Dedicated fluidized filter recommended |
| Monitoring | Regular control of PO4 levels |
| Aquarium Volume | Initial Dosage | Maximum Dosage after 14 days |
|---|---|---|
| 200 L | 50 g | 100 g maximum |
Do not exceed 100 g per 200 L of water. It is not recommended to use Ultra Phos when the PO4 value is below 0.03 mg/L.
| Indicator | Action to Take |
|---|---|
| Increase in PO4 levels | Replace Ultra Phos with new media |
| Yellowing of the media | Normal phenomenon related to phosphorus adsorption |
| More crystalline water | Normal effect of organic pollutant fixation |
