The Ion Balanced Pro Reef Salt by Royal Nature is a synthetic salt formulated to accurately reproduce the ionic composition of natural seawater. It is intended for the preparation of seawater for reef aquariums requiring high stability of parameters and precise balance of macro and micro elements.

The volume of saltwater that can be prepared depends on the desired specific gravity or PPT. To achieve a density of 1.0264, corresponding to 35.5 PPT, it is recommended to mix 1 kg of Royal Nature Ion Balanced Pro salt with 26 L of osmosis water using a circulation pump.

The salt should always be added gradually to the water, never the reverse, to ensure even dissolution.

Dissolution Time and Recommended Parameters

The prepared saltwater is ready to use when the salt is fully dissolved, which takes about 30 minutes. The best results are achieved at a temperature between 24 and 25°C.

Salinity should be checked using a reliable and calibrated refractometer. Adjust if necessary by adding salt or osmosis water before introducing into the aquarium.

Water Change Recommendations

A weekly partial water change of 10 to 12% with Royal Nature Ion Balanced Pro salt helps maintain the natural balance of all macro and micro elements.
