Nature’s Ocean Bio-Activ Live Australian Gold Reef Sand for Marine Aquarium

The Australian Gold Reef Sand Nature’s Ocean is a naturally golden-tinted live reef sand, composed of aragonite collected and packaged in its original environment. Each grain is naturally covered with an active bacterial biofilm, ready to immediately contribute to the biological balance of the aquarium.

Natural Bacterial Biofilm

In the marine environment, sand grains are covered with a complex biofilm composed of autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria. The Bio-Activ Live sand from Nature’s Ocean is harvested in a way that preserves this natural biofilm, without the artificial addition of bacteria.

The bacteria are kept alive through a patented process associated with a patented QX-23™ saltwater enrichment solution, ensuring immediate biological activity once the sand is introduced into the aquarium.

Quick Start and Biological Stability

This live sand allows for an almost instantaneous ammonia cycle, without the waiting period associated with bacterial colonization. It helps reduce nitrogenous waste, limits algae growth, and helps maintain a stable pH suitable for marine and reef aquariums.

Applications and Compatibility

With an intermediate grain size of 0.5 to 1.7 mm, the Australian Gold Reef Sand is suitable for most reef configurations, including deep sand beds. It is not recommended for use with undergravel filters.

Recommended Use

It is recommended to use at least 1 lb of Bio-Activ Aragonite Live sand per gallon of saltwater. After setup, ensure appropriate filtration and circulation. During the first month, limit the introduction of fish to allow for gradual biological stabilization.
