Reef Calcium is a polygluconate calcium concentrated at 50,000 mg/L, designed to maintain stable calcium levels in reef aquariums. Unlike traditional ionic forms, this organic calcium is easily absorbed by corals while requiring less metabolic energy for its absorption.
Its formulation does not alter the pH and contains no nitrogen or phosphorus, preventing any undesirable stimulation of algae growth in a properly maintained reef system.
The calcium present in Reef Calcium is bound to an organic polygluconate chain. This complexation enhances the bioavailability of calcium, limits precipitation phenomena, and simultaneously provides a source of metabolic carbon easily usable by corals.
Thanks to this uncharged form, calcium can be absorbed more efficiently by coral tissues, even when total calcium concentrations are moderate.
Liquid organic calcium with high bioavailability.
Concentration: 50,000 mg/L.
No impact on pH.
No nitrate or phosphate.
Reef Calcium is primarily intended for maintaining calcium levels and optimizing coral growth. In case of significant deficiency, it is recommended to use an ionic calcium supplement or perform a water change before resuming maintenance with Reef Calcium.
It can be used alone or in conjunction with an ionic calcium such as Reef Complete or Reef Advantage Calcium to maximize coral growth.
Add 5 ml for 80 L of water, twice a week.
The quantity or frequency can be adjusted based on coral growth response, without exceeding 15 ml per 80 L per day.
Each dose of 5 ml per 80 L increases calcium by approximately 3 mg/L.
The recommended level of calcium in a reef aquarium is between 380 and 420 mg/L, with alkalinity between 3 and 6 meq/L (8 to 17 dKH).
Significant adjustments should be made gradually to avoid any imbalance or stress for the corals.
Excess calcium can lead to increased consumption of carbonate alkalinity. It is not recommended to mix Reef Calcium directly with a carbonate supplement.
Volume: 2 liters.
Other formats available: 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 4 L.
Reef Calcium Seachem is designed to ensure stable and effective calcium maintenance in reef aquariums while supporting sustainable coral growth.
