Profi Test Nitrite Salifert – NO2 Test for Reef Aquarium

The Profi Test Nitrite Salifert allows you to monitor the concentration of nitrites (NO2) in a saltwater aquarium. Nitrites are toxic compounds resulting from the nitrogen cycle, and their presence must remain close to zero, especially in reef aquariums and during start-up phases.

This test works with two solutions and allows for approximately 60 tests. Salifert tests are known for their reliability, precision, and excellent value for money in marine aquaristics.

Main Features

  • Type of test: nitrites (NO2)
  • Usage: marine and reef aquarium
  • Number of tests: approximately 60
  • Reading by colorimetric comparison

Safety Information

Caution. Do not swallow. Keep out of reach of children.

Instructions for Use

1. Using the syringe, take 1 ml of water from the aquarium and pour it into the test tube.

2. Add 1 spoon of NO2 powder reagent, then gently stir for about 20 seconds. Let it rest afterward.

3. Place the test tube above the colorimetric scale, on a white area, and compare the obtained color. The corresponding nitrite concentration can then be determined.

Nitrite values are expressed in ppm (mg/L).

Increasing Test Sensitivity

Once the aquarium has established a proper nitrification cycle, significantly higher sensitivity may be necessary.

To do this, hold the test tube facing you and observe the color from the side. Place the colorimetric scale behind the test tube, ensuring a white area is behind the liquid.

In this reading mode, the results obtained should be divided by 10.

Regular monitoring of nitrites is essential to ensure the safety of the fish and the biological stability of the reef aquarium.
