de❊nitrate is a porous biological support designed to effectively remove nitrates through anaerobic denitrification, while ensuring the nitrification of ammonia and nitrites in the aerobic zone.

Operating Principle
The porous structure of de❊nitrate allows aerobic bacteria to settle on the outer layers, consuming dissolved oxygen, while the internal areas become anaerobic and host denitrifying bacteria.
At low flow rates, this process replicates the biological function of live reef rock, with enhanced efficiency due to the forced passage of water through the media.
Flow Rate and Efficiency
Recommended flow rate: less than 200 L/h.
Optimal denitrifying function: flow rate less than 50 US gallons per hour.
At high flow rates, the media functions only as aerobic nitrification support.
Dosage and Installation
Use 500 ml for approximately 100 to 200 liters of water.
Place in a cartridge filter, external filter, sump, or filtration module.
Rinse briefly before use to remove dust.
Pre-filter the water to prevent pore clogging.
Usage and Maintenance
de❊nitrate is a permanent biomedia that does not deplete. As long as nitrates remain under control, the media remains active. Occasional rinsing in aquarium water can be done if clogging occurs.
In the presence of very high nitrates, it is recommended to lower them below 20 mg/L through water changes before media installation.
