Chrysiptera cyanea, also known as the blue damselfish, is a vibrant and colorful marine fish, perfect for adding energy to a reef aquarium. It is distinguished by its intense electric cyan blue oval-shaped body, visible from a distance and particularly striking under LED reef lighting.
Behavior and Schooling
This fish is active, hardy, and low-maintenance, making it an excellent choice for beginner aquarists. It is recommended to keep this species in a school of at least 5 individuals to allow the establishment of a natural hierarchy, which limits aggression among conspecifics.
In a well-structured group and in an environment rich in rocks, hiding places, and escape zones, its behavior becomes stable and more harmonious. When alone or in a poorly structured small group, it can become territorial, especially as it ages.
