Strombus strombus is a robust marine snail highly valued for the natural maintenance of reef aquariums. Thanks to its burrowing and algae-eating behavior, it actively contributes to the cleaning and aeration of the sand while consuming the micro-algae present in the decor.
An Active and Useful Snail in the Reef Aquarium
A true substrate ally, Strombus strombus stirs the sandy surface in search of food. This natural behavior helps prevent the formation of dead zones while promoting oxygenation and good water circulation in the superficial layers of the sand.
It is not uncommon to see it moving on live rocks to graze on algae. Its sturdy shell and slow pace make it completely harmless to other aquarium inhabitants, including corals and sensitive invertebrates.

Bel animal qui travaille beaucoup. J’espérais le voir autant s’occuper du sable que le luhanus mais au bout de 24h il a élu domicile dans les roches qu’il arpente en long, en large et en travers.
